GRCCC Announces the Launch of the Green Army Programme in the Georges River catchment

The GRCCC is proud to announce the launch of the Australian Governments Green Army project.  Green Army teams of young participants aged 17-24 will work across the upper, mid and lower George River catchment area to restore high priority bushland. The primary activities will be bush regeneration through weed treatment, natural regeneration and revegetation as well as improving the water quality of the Georges River by cleaning up the waterway through rubbish removal.

The GRCCC met with the Prime Minister Mr. Tony Abbott, Federal Environment Minister Mr. Greg Hunt, and Federal Members for Parliament Mr. Nickolas Varvaris, Mr. David Coleman and Mr. Craig Kelly on Saturday 2nd August 2014 at Carss Bush Park on the lower Georges River to launch the programme.
