Mid, Upper and Lower Urban Sustainability Initiative

The GRCCC played a significant role in member councils being awarded Urban Sustainability funding for these projects in partnership with the GRCCC.  Two of the projects were initiated by the GRCCC and all three were largely successful due to the GRCCC’s ability to ensure the objectives of the project would achieve regional application through our extensive network.

The GRCCC plays an active role on the Steering Committees of the Upper and Middle Georges River Urban Sustainability Initiatives and will be a member of the Steering Committee for the Lower Georges River Initiative when it is established.  In addition to supporting the on ground works associated with these projects through our Riverkeeper program we have and will continue to play a key role in facilitating the dissemination of information and learnings from these projects across the catchment.  We are uniquely placed to share project outcomes through our meetings, program cluster groups and the development of the new Georges River Website.
